Designing Caricatures for Primetime TV
Dredging up memories from my career for Substack articles is a lot of fun. And when it comes to fun, nothing beats seeing a troupe of your caricatures blown up to six times life size, and tripping over each other with their underwear around their ankles while being pursued by a shark the size of a Ford Transit…all for the sake of family entertainment.
In 2016, I was approached by a production company to help out on new primetime show for ITV1 in the UK. Hosted by comedian Jason Manford, it was to be called Big Heads, and it can best be described as the bastard child of Spitting Image and a Japanese game-show.
